Please note: January 1 to April 1 is the annual Winter Retreat for the monastics at Abhayagiri. At this time we do not have overnight guest stays. If you wish to visit to make offerings of food or other requisites or to attend our Saturday night or Lunar Observance Night Meditation and Dhamma talk you are welcome to do so. During the Winter Retreat, the Abhayagiri monastics will be following Noble Silence; engaging in as little conversation as possible. Thus, they will not be meeting with visitors or offering personal teachings at this time.
Due to a high volume of emails, we are unable to respond to general questions about Buddhism whether these concern school projects, college research or are of general interest. Short, specific questions about our monastery and tradition, however, are welcome.
We are not able to provide spiritual or pastoral counseling via email or telephone.
If you would like to contact the monastery by phone, you can call: (707) 485-1630 and leave a message on the general voice mail. If a response is required, we will try to respond within a day or two.
Thank you for your consideration,
The Abhayagiri Saṅgha
