The upcoming monthly Community Work Day, scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 10th, has been canceled. This is due to the fact that Abhayagiri residents will be undertaking a 2-week period of retreat from August 1st to 16th, as part of the traditional "rains retreat." This is a time during the monastic calendar when quietude and solitude are encouraged.

We very much value people's contributions to these work days, and plan to continue with them again in September as scheduled.

We hope that we are not disappointing people by this change of plans, and look forward to seeing people again at future work days.

Visitors are welcome, as always, and apart from not having the daily morning work period, the monastery routine continues as normal, including the Upasika Day gathering on Saturday, August 9th.
