Contact Information

Please use this contact page for any feedback on our website, any questions specifically about our tradition or the monastery, and for questions about visiting.

• Due to a high volume of emails, we are unable to respond to general questions about Buddhism, although short, specific questions about our monastery and tradition are welcome.
• We are not able to provide spiritual or pastoral counseling via email or telephone.
• We are not able to assist with research projects or school projects via email or telephone.
Day visitors are welcome at Abhayagiri everyday, all year long. If you wish to make an inquiry about the meal offering or other offerings during the winter retreat time (December 28th, 2011 to April 1st, 2012) please contact .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
• In keeping with the tradition, there is no charge for staying at the Monastery, which is supported by donations and voluntary help.
• If you are interested in being an overnight guest at the monastery please see availability below (in bold). If you make a request to stay in April or later, 2012, please write back in April with a bit of information about yourself, including your age, gender, experience with following precepts, experience with meditation, and your background or interests in Buddhism.
From December 28th, 2011 to April 1st, 2012 Abhayagiri will be closed to overnight guests for the monastic winter retreat. During this time we do not take reservations for future visits. Please contact us again on or after April 1st, 2012 for Spring time reservations.
First-time guests may stay for a maximum period of one week (or ten days if coming from out-of-state or two weeks if coming from outside the U.S.). We ask that all new guests stay for at least three nights. After your first visit, you may request to stay for a longer period of time when returning for a second visit. We do not make reservations for guests more than two months in advance of their requested date of stay.
• Because of very limited guest facilities, we often have to turn people away who wish to stay overnight. Many people have made reservations and then canceled or changed them. If you make a reservation and then cancel or change it, it usually means someone else has lost the chance to stay here. Therefore, we ask, please do not make a reservation unless you can make a firm commitment to follow through.
• Day visitors and overnight guests at Abhayagiri are asked to refrain from using their cell phones, smart phones and laptop computers for phone calls, email or internet. This policy is in place to insure a peaceful, contemplative visit.

Thank you for your consideration,
