108 Dhamma Similes

Ajahn Chah

Ajahn Chah was known as a master at using similes to highlight and explain points of Dhamma. Since his death in 1991, there have been several collections of similes compiled using extracts from his Dhamma talks.

This present translation was done by Thanissaro Bhikkhu, Abbot of Metta Forest Monastery in Valley Center, California, and is based primarily on a collection compiled by Ajahn Jandee, one of Ajahn Chah's Thai students. Ajahn Jandee's collection was transcribed directly from recordings of Ajahn Chah's talks with minimal editing.
