Playing Audio Files

For slower connections (Dial-up and ISDN)
Downloading the mp3 files may take quite a long time, so we suggest using the 'listen' option, which will stream the talks to your computer so you can listen while it is downloading. These files are often smaller and of a lower quality than the mp3 files. Clicking on the 'listen' link will open a new browser window and the talk will begin playing. If you wish to listen to the mp3 version click the 'download' link. The mp3 file sizes are listed in the table.

For broadband users (DSL, cable, and satellite users)

You may want to download the files to your computer and listen to them locally or on a portable mp3 player. To do this, right click on the 'download' link of the talk you wish to listen to and select "Save Target As. " Then save the mp3 file in a directory where you will be able to find it again, and play the file locally when it has finished downloading.

Most computers already have basic software installed to play mp3 and stream Flash files. If you are having problems or know that your computer doesn't have these programs we offer the following two suggestions:

MP3s
Most computers come with media player software installed. Windows PC's have the Windows Media Player, and Apple computers have the QuickTime Player and iTunes which will automatically play our MP3 files. If you are on a different operating system or don't have one of these, a program we recommend for playing MP3 files is WinAmp, which can be downloaded for free here.

Flash
For streaming files based on the Flash technology you may need to install the Flash Player plugin for your browser. If you're having problems playing these files you can insure the Flash Player is installed by going to the Flash website.

If you experience problems with any of the files or links on our site, please contact us know so we can correct the issue.
