Ajahn Liem to Visit Abhayagiri
May 12 to June 8
The Sangha
June 1, 2009
Before the winter retreat began, the abbots invited Ajahn Liem, an elder student of Ajahn Chah who has served as head monk of Wat Pah Pong for over 25 years, to visit Abhayagiri in the spring. Ajahn Liem accepted our offer, and thanks to Ajahn Pasanno’s tireless efforts to arrange international travel in the post-9/11 era, Ajahn Liem is scheduled to arrive here on May 12. He will be accompanied by Ajahn Anek, a senior disciple of Ajahn Chah who has been a monk for forty years and is the abbot of a branch monastery in Ubolrachatani Province. Ajahn Kevali, the present abbot of Wat Pah Nanachat, and Ajahn Siripañño will serve as translators.
