As the retreat moves into its final month, Ajahn Pasanno begins the talk with some guidance on meditation. He observes how bodily qualities like breathing, posture, and facial expressions interrelate with our minds and moods. Ajahn Pasanno then broadens his focus and reflects how our general attitude interrelates with the mind-body process. In particular, when we get caught up with identification, we get pulled down and we don't go beyond ourselves. By practicing with inspiring themes, or contemplating the elements, or dwelling in kindness, compassion and forgiveness, we can uplift our hearts and give rise to stability and clarity. This talk was offered on March 8, 2014 at Abhayagiri Buddhist Monastery.
