A Rhythm of Nature
Ajahn Pasanno
August 9, 2014

With part of the community in seclusion on personal retreats for the Vassa, Ajahn Pasanno reflects on the importance of using this period to focus on one's meditation practice. In this talk he emphasizes the Buddha's basic teaching of mindfulness of breathing and reminds us that the breath connects us to a rhythm of nature, where normally our habit is to look to our personality for answers. Through awareness of our breath we have the ability to achieve the higher level of concentration, samādhi, which Ajahn Pasanno explains has four functions on the path to releasing us from suffering. This talk was offered on August 9, 2014 at Abhayagiri Buddhist Monastery.
